Say Hello, Say Goodbye

Winter made 2 brief appearances this meteorological winter. The first appearance was in early December. The second, this past weekend. We now can make an official step towards the start of spring. Next week high temperatures will approach the upper 70s and lower 80s for much of Oklahoma. Interesing enough it looks like RH values are high next week. I indicated in previous posts that the drought pattern seems to be buckling. This so far seems true, but I would like to see a lot more evidence before making a statement.

So, do we just say goodbye to SNOW until next December? No, it really appears now that a monster storm system will smack Eastern Oklahoma around March 10. This is a real possibility that will be looked at in the next week. But, I know most people will find it hard to believe when we are 80 degrees plus next week. ENJOY THE WARM WEATHER:)

A Winter Mess Brewing?

As we have heard for many days now there is a possibility for a wintry mix this weekend. My gut feeling right now is that there is a possibility of a ice storm brewing for Oklahoma. The thickness levels are a little to warm for all snow, right now. Obviously, this all could change in the next couple of days. I have not posted in a week or so, because I think my previous post explained my ideas really well. What is interesting about this pattern change that is about to take effect? Well, it looks like it will finally buckle the trend. This change may allow more precipitation to fall in the next several weeks. Hopefully this can lead to ending our drought. However, its very very hard to break a drought. But, all things must come to an end.
